Self-Efficacy and the Digit Ratio in a Group of Sports University Students

Self-efficacy is one’s awareness of being able to cope optimally with different situations. Perceived self-efficacy a belief that closely involves emotional and personological functioning. In fact, when one perceives oneself as capable, the likelihood success increases significantly. The aim this research was verify possible correlation between Digit Ratio (2D:4D), referred prenatal androgen levels, whether these correlate some psychological variables, considering gender differences. This study involved 56 sports university students, whose 2D:4D ratio calculated. Moreover, self-assessment questionnaires: Scale (SES), Big Five Questionnaire-2 (BFQ-2), Profile Mood State (POMS), State–Trait Anxiety Inventory Form Y (STAI-Y) Emotional Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) were administered. data show perceived levels seem be influenced by an innate predisposition linked values which subjects exposed during uterine life (2D:4D). negative indicates higher value digit ratio, more likely it level will lower. Finally, degree also seems depend on subjective anxiety, understood both disposition contingent condition, latter particularly in women.
